Satellite-derived flooded areas Basento

This product is the result of the analysis of a set of Sentinel 1 SAR images. The surveyed area is the central part of the Basento river floodplain (Basilicata, southern Italy). SAR flooded areas are the results of the comparison between a set of images before a flood event and a set of images after the same event (March 13-16, 2016 in this case). A backscatter value threshold has been chosen in order to detect the flooded areas. The product is a raster file in GeoTIFF format, with a spatial resolution of 10 m. The covered area extends for about 80 km2. The reference system is WGS84.
